HGTV makes real estate look glamorous and sexy. People buying their dream homes, total makeovers, & big reveals.
But, do you know what do they hardly ever show? The REAL reason people move. What I refer to as the often times messy side of real estate. I say that, "behind every transaction", a life-stage transition in the midst —usually a marriage, divorce, loss, job changes, empty nesting (down-sizing, right-sizing) grief & loss, even aging or medical issues. Those are, most often, the reasons people are moving... and it can be a powder keg of emotions that can enter into the transaction.
As a real estate professional (& former psychotherapist), I’m not just selling homes — I’m guiding people through some of the most emotionally charged moments of their lives. It’s not just about the sale... or even the sexy home. There is a deeply personal story there... that's about their loved ones, memories, things they value highly, personal change, and sometimes… heartbreak.
If I could combine HGTV and Dr. Phil, that’s the show I should be hosting!! Because real estate is 1 part business and 1 part therapy—and sometimes, what people really need isn’t agent/salesperson… they need a trusted guide to see them through it all.
Have you ever had an emotionally charged real estate transaction? Perhaps it was driven by a life-stage change? Tell me about it... Either drop it in the comments👇 or DM me. Because real estate... is deeply personal!💬💔🏡
